Book Series!
Purpose of the Series
This book series is designed to help children have fun, learn about nature and life in general. Our purpose is to present simple things children can do as a hobby or other activities that will help them develop self respect, build their self esteem and at the same time, just enjoy life. Children feel good about themselves when they have something in their life that they can choose to do and in which they can excel. It can become a focus during stressful times as well as recreation for just fun times. When children feel good about themselves, chances are better that they will be more successful as teens and adults.
Another important reason for this series is to reinforce that nature and taking care or our Earth is very necessary for its future. In doing this we hope that children will learn that the earth has a natural order about it in order to function as it should and if humans interfere with that order, it could cause harm for future generations, maybe even their own. We introduce environmental issues not to scare children but to help them to become aware of the problems, learn to be responsible and to know what they can begin doing at their age to help.
Each book will focus on a different animal usually in a story form with true facts included for educational purposes. These children's books will be appropriate for reading to preschoolers. They will also be entertaining to middle and older children. Most of the books will offer an activity or two relating to an animal, story, nature or environment and some type of award for completing the book and activity.
The first book in this series is about birds. The book, Friends in the Meadow-Birds, is an introduction to the hobby of bird watching for young people.
Friends in the Meadow – Birds, helps young people to learn about what birds like and dislike and the struggles these little creatures encounter as they live on this earth. It also helps parents introduce their children to birds and nature in general as they read to them or otherwise participate with their children in birding activities. The hobby of birding can help build strong relationships and give children a positive focus in life helping them to build great
er self esteem and a less stressful life.
Our mission for introducing young children to bird watching is to help provide an available, positive, low cost and entertaining hobby that will offer an education in nature while enjoying a pleasant experience. (The kids do not realize it is educational, just fun!)
As an award for completing the book and identifying their first twenty birds, a certificate is included in the back of the book for the parent, scout master, teacher or other adult to verify, complete, and present to the child. Another boost to their self esteem!
